American red oak is the major sustainable temperate hardwood growing naturally in the forests of the eastern United States. It represents about one third of the production of sawn hardwood lumber and is highly suitable for furniture, flooring, joinery and cabinets. Red Oak varies in colour from light brown to pinkish, with distinct character and grain as well as excellent working and performance properties. It is the preferred hardwood in the U.S. domestic market.
